Well parents, we did it! We made it through the second week of remote learning! If your house in anything like my house, this week is when reality settled in a little more for us. My biggest take-away for myself this week is grace. At Ridgeview, we talk A LOT about grace & accountability--meaning, we hold students accountable for their behavior, but also provide them grace for skills they are still learning. As a parent and educator, I need to provide myself with a little extra grace this past week. No one really could expect that our school year would end up going this way. You may find yourself overwhelmed with school work, schedules, managing behaviors, keeping up with the snack demand, and trying to get your own work done! We are all learning a lot of new skills we didn't expect to need. So do yourself a favor, and go easy on yourself! And, go easy on your kids. This is new for all of us.
Now, turn off the computers and screens, get outside, and enjoy some play time. Playing is learning.
